 The ARGON
D2C2 with SPI Flash is a modchip
the introduce the programming concept called "MULTIFUNCTIONAL
JTAG". ARGON SPI is
consisting of a last generation ACTEL chip that can be
re-programmed with different firmwares. The JTAG update
suffers the fact that it needs an external programmer
to be implemented, but it gives to the developers the
possibility to COMPLETELY CHANGE THE CHIP CODE, SOMETHING
UNTHINKABLE FOR OTHER PROJECTS.
Currently ARGON SPI is
being used by Wii D2C2 systems successfully, it has a UNIQUE
firmware in the world made up by 9 wires (!) and can boot DVD+-R
or DVD+-RW wii / GameCube Imports / Backups and Hombrews. The ARGON
SPI Mod Chip does not modify any RAM and
therefore making it virtually undetectable for the Wii.
Info: Team Infectus is shortly releasing a new firmware for
the ARGON SPI ModChip
to works with a PS2 - just a simple reprogramming and the same
wii ARGON chip will be ok for PS2 consoles! This is an example

 The main advantage from D2PRO 9 WIRE wii
ModChip has over D2Ckey Chip is the lower wire count and the upgradability function.
The wire count from this ModChips has gone from 31 wires down to only 15 wires
(and additional 4 wires are required if you want region free gaming), and now
down to only 9. The upgradability feature may not be needed for a while, but
upgradability is more for piece of mind that if Nintendo bring out new formats
(like dual layer on SSBB) or try to block the D2PRO modchip from running, all
you
need
to do is flash your wii mod chip to a newer firmware.
The D2pro Mod-Chip has recently been updated to be a 9 wire d2c modchip. However,
because you can update the modchip via the D2prog, you can convert it back to
a 15 / 19 wire modchip if need be. The current models shipping have the 9 wire
firmware on them and ready to use, so there is no need to buy a programmer if
need be. |

Wii FreeLoader requires no modifications to your console. As well as letting
you play Wii games from all regions, Wii FreeLoader also works with some imported

Launcher can you run all this Home Brew Game-Cube software,
Retro Game-Cube Games or unofficial GameCube Tools on an

GameCube Mode. All you need to do is download the program
of your choice from one of the many web pages dedicated to
amateur programming on the Cube. Drag and drop it onto the
1GB SD card supplied with the Media Launcher, then plug it
into your Wii or GameCube. Launch the application CD on your
console and the home brew program is run from there. Easy!
